Surging Score

Perfect sets of breaking sea
swirl around my eager skin
to lift and pull with gentle roar
then raise me up into a spin
in turns of sweet and salty glee
I swim against the surging score.

With every stroke I try to brave
the constant pull of salty rip
and catch the perfect concave set
to ride up in that moving slip
then push me through its glassy cave-
I hit the beach I’m tired and wet.

My latest Sestina-

With No Regrets
-a Sestina

We love to love and all the rest
Living life with no future or past
Who knows the scars we find in life?
Never seeking out forgiveness
We give, we take, we play with love
My love was born with no regrets

You fan my flames that burn regrets
And now before we soon will rest
Prepare our feathered bed for love
That what is now will soon be past
Should we ask for some forgiveness?
Or till the furrows of our life

So offer up a toast to life
Though morrow we may have regrets
As the wind blows new forgiveness
The forest trees will bow and rest
And bring new life to cover past
Revealing strong and earnest love

How should we feed eternal love?
As we devour even life
Turn not our heads to glance the past
My love I do have some regrets
And must confess them then to rest
Not that you need give forgiveness

Who is worthy of forgiveness?
This question rests with you my love
Try to remember all the rest
This journey we have made through life
Now I confess my small regrets
Mistakes I have made in the past

And sleep forever in the past
And company with forgiveness
And so cozy with the regrets
And surly missing all our love
And thirsting for the gift of life
And closing dark eyes to the rest

If love would dream of Human past
Streams of life would flood forgiveness
Then drown regrets and put to rest.

Warped!

Thought I would invite all to an exhibit that will include ten other photographers and myself showing some of our interpretations of the word "WARPED'. We hung the show today and there is some really nice work on the walls. The exhibit is on Friday March 5, from 5:30PM to 7:30PM in Centerville, Delaware at the Law offices of MacElree Harvey Ltd. 5721 Kennett Pike. Hope to see you all there!

Serianna

This is a new experiment that I wanted to try out to see if people would be interested in reading poems with illustrations.

Along the
Broadkill
From Milton’s
“Paradise Lost”

The white fog creeps along the banks
To grace the languid Broadkill river.
From reed to reed the east wind rushes
Bringing forth my praise and thanks.

I paddle down this open water
And let the currents guide my eyes.
Flocks of sparrows drift and hover
An Eagle dives to snatch an Otter.

My birch canoe slaps out the sound
Of muddy water giving way
I dig in deep and feel the force
Pushing on , I’m homeward bound.

Sunset deepens trees that tower
High above my feathered head
Moonbeams shoot through crystal branches
I breathe in deeply nature’s power.

Scattered farms are passing by
Newcomers to our ancient spirit land
Silhouette against a lonely ridge,
The orange and violet evening sky.

My arms are aching I’m finally here
The high stars glow against the night
Filtering down through leaves of light
The words of Milton become so clear.

Alapocas

The dodging Moon from high above
Sent forth its dreamy glow
A moving silence a glowing Dove.

Light reflected far below
The light so painterly
Filtered through the trees long bough.

I held my hands so as to see
Through misty leaves I peered
Then moving colors brushed by me.

Although I thought perhaps is weird
This display of natures charm
The forest floor was alive I feared

But meant no present harm
As tender Faeries brushed my arm.
